    The virtuous organization.Michael D. Smith - 1982 - Journal of Medicine and Philosophy 7 (1):35-42.
In this essay, I shall assume that at least some groups are moral agents, a view successfully argued for by Peter French (1972, 1979, 1981). To that view I add only the following two refinements: (a) The reality of group or organizational agents depends on the existence of rules that constitute them. Obscene and threatening telephone calls to women: Data from a canadian national survey.Norman N. Morra & Michael D. Smith - 1994 - Gender and Society 8 (4):584-596.

    The Professional Commitment: Issues and Ethics in Nursing.Carroll A. Quinn & Michael D. Smith - 1987 - W B Saunders Company.
This thought-provoking text explores the ethical dimensions of the professional nursing practice. The authors discuss important topics such as inter-professional relationships, collective action, nursing research, and educational requirements within the context of professional commitment. Providing a balance between an empirical and a philsophical framework, the book stimulates the reader to ponder, analyze and evaluate the professional and ethical aspects of these issues.

Enhancing the quality of survey data on violence against women:: A feminist approach.Michael D. Smith - 1994 - Gender and Society 8 (1):109-127.
A major methodological problem in victimization surveys on physical and sexual violence against women is the underreporting of violence. The first part of this article makes a case for 6 feminist strategies for improving the accuracy of self-report data on victimization within a mainstream survey research framework. The second part of the article is a presentation of data from a survey of Toronto women that is designed to show the efficacy of these feminist strategies.
